ORDINANCE NO. 78-5-1566
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PLANNING COM-
MISSION AMENDING A PORTION OF SECTION 40.21 (C) (4) , (D) (7) AND (E) (2) OF
THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE - 1976 SO AS TO EFFECT SUCH REZONING
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That a resolution adopted by the Paducah Planning Commission
on May 15, 1978, entitled "A RESOLUTION CONSTITUTING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE
PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION ON THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF SECTION 40.21
(C) (4) , (D) (7) AND (E)'-(2) OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE - 1976", be
approved as the final report of said Commission respecting the matter therein set forth.
SECTION 2. That sub -sections 40.21 (C) (4) , (D) (7) and (E) (2) of the
Paducah Zoning Ordinance - 1976 be, and the same is hereby, amended and reordained
so that said sub -sections as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
40.21 Sign Regulations
C. Provisions Applicable to All Zones. The following
regulations shall be applicable to all zones in the City:
(4) No portion of any sign shall be located closer than
then (10)feet to the street right-of-way unless the
bottom of that sign is at least ten (10) feet above
the ground.
D. Signs Permitted in All Zones. Subject to the provisions
contained in Subsection (C) above, and except where
such signs may violate some other Section of the Zoning
or other Ordinances of the City, the following signs shall
be permitted in all zones:
(7) Any unlighted sign advertising the sale of real estate,
not exceeding 24 x 36 inches in area; provided no
more than one sign shall be permitted for each 50
feet the lot to be sold abuts upon a roadway.
E. Provisions Applicable to R-1, R-2 and R-3 Zones. No sign
shall be permitted in the R-1, R-2 and R-3 zones in the City
except as provided in Section (D) above and except as follows:
(2) Unlighted name plates affixed to the exterior wall of
the structure and not exceeding 18 inches by 24
inches in area shall be permitted for each dwelling
unit. Such name plates shall indicate nothing other
than the name of the premises, and announcements
soliciting boarders or roomers, customary home
occupation, or the name and/or address of the occupants.
SECTION 3. That if any section, paragraph or provision of this ordinance
shall be found to be inoperative, ineffective or invalid for any cause, the deficiency
or invalidity of such section, paragraph or provision shall not affect any other
section, paragraph or provision hereof, it being the purpose and intent of this
ordinance to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof separable
from all other sections; paragraphs and provisions.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption.
