HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-1-7648ORDINANCE NO. 2010-1-7648 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO WITH THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR AN ENHANCEMENT GRANT AWARD FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GREENWAY TRAIL PHASE II WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a 2008 Kentucky Transportation Enhancement Program Grant adopted by Municipal Order No. 1365 on February 5, 2008, for the Greenway Trails Project -Phase H; and WHEREAS, the Kentucky Department of Transportation has approved the application and is now ready to award this grant. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Grant Agreement and all documents relating thereto with the Kentucky Department of Transportation for a 2008 Kentucky Transportation Enhancement Grant Award in the amount of $500,000.00 for acquisition of properties and construction of approximately 4,546 feet of new trail on top of the earthen floodwall, a dry underpass beneath US Highway 45, and a crossing at State Highway 305. Local funds required to match the grant are in an amount not to exceed $200,000. SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged through project account PA 0078. SECTION 3. Pursuant to KRS 83A.060, the City Commission suspends the requirement of a second reading of this Ordinance. An emergency is hereby declared to exist due to enable property acquisition reimbursement and this ordinance shall become effective immediately with one reading. ATTEST: Tammara S.
