A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN A 2009 STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND
EMERGENCY RESPONSE (SAFER) GRANT THROUGH THE AMERICAN RECOVERY
AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 FUNDED THROUGH THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) FOR THE HIRING OF THREE FIREFIGHTERS
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary
to obtain a 2009 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant through the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funded through the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) in the amount of $400,000 for the hiring of three firefighters.
This grant will provide for the cost of employment for two years. The City will retain the
firefighters for one additional year at the cost of approximately $220,000.
SECTION 2. This order will be in full force and effect from and after the date of
its adoption.
