At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the Commission Chambers
at City Hall at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2000, Mayor Jones presided, and upon call of
the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Coleman, Paxton, Wrye and Mayor Jones (4). Commissioner Smith was absent (1).
R & F NOTICES
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Paxton, that the
Called Meeting Notice for 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2000, be received and filed.
Adoptedted on call f the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman,Paxton, Wrye and Mayor
Jones (4).
City Attorney W. David Denton discussed the following items with the Commission:
1. Demolition of property located at 17d' & Fountain Avenue
2. Demolition of Old Lourdes Hospital
3. City of Paducah and FOP Labor Agreement
(The Commission agreed to give the Police and Fire Departments 3%
salary increases effective July 1, 2000.)
OZONE LEVEL
Attorney Bill Pinkston discussed the possibility of the City filing a lawsuit before June
30, 2000, seeking an injunction to prevent Governor Patton from including Paducah and
McCracken County on a list of non -attainment areas in violation of the ozone level.
The Commission agreed that Court action should be instituted immediately.

PAYROLL TAX PENALTY FOR VMV
Mayor Jones recommended that a recent City payroll tax penalty paid by VMV be
refunded.
Attorney David Denton suggested that Attorney Tom Keuler be directed to investigate
this matter and tell the City of possible options for handing this matter. He also told the
Board that a definite policy should be adopted for late payment of taxes. The
Commission concurred.
BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM
The Board directed the City Clerk to prepare and mail a proclamation stating the City's ✓
support of the placement of a brigade -size combat team at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
