A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF MAINTENANCE GARAGES FOR USE BY THE PUBLIC WORKS

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to

advertise for bids for construction of Maintenance Garages for ttse by the Public
Works Departments, said invitation for bids to be as follows:
INVITATION TO BID
The. City of Paducah will receive bids for the construction of the
City .Maintenance Garages until 2: 00 P .M . , local time, on the sixth
(6th) day of December, 1979, at the City Hall, Office of the City
Engineer, 5th and Washington Streets, Paducah, KY 42001, at which
time all bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud .
The project consists of three pre-engineered metal buildings-for the
Street Department and the Refuse Department.
Copies of the plans and specifications may be obtained from the
Architect on November 19, 1979 by depositing $100.00 for each
set, which will be refunded upon return in good condition with-
in ten (10) days after bid opening. Copies of the documents are
on file at Gresham-Keeling-Jones, Architects, P. O. Box 1251, 1203
Broadway, Paducah, KY 42001 and Farris, Hatcher, Tremper and
Associates, 2221 Broadway, P. O. Box 1349, Paducah, KY 42001.
Plans are also on file at:
Associated General Contractors, Paducah, KY 42001
Dodge Scan, Nashville, TN
Dodge Scan, Evansville, IN
Dodge Scan, St. Louis, MO
A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the City of
Paducah, negotiable U . S . Government Bonds (at par value) , or a
satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable
surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5 0) of the total of Bid
for Site Preparation shall be submitted with each Bid .
Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum wages
and salaries as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on
this project .
The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to
waive any informalities in the bidding .
Bids may be held by the City of Paducah for a period not to exceed
forty-five (45) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the
purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the gta.alifications of
Bidders prior to awarding of the Contract .

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by a notice
posted on the bulletin board at City Hall and by publication ptzrsizant to KRS
Chapter 424. No bids shall be "opened within ten days from the date on which the

of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to
the best responsible bidder . The City shall have the right to refuse and reject any
