AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZINGTHE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE BID
OF COMMONWEALTH LIFE INSURANCE FOR GROUP COVERAGE OF LIFE INSURANCE
FOR -EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH; AND TO AMEND SUB -SECTION (c) OF
SECTION 2-28 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH ..
WHEREAS; the - City of Paducah recently" solicited bids for Group ` Life
Insurance coverage for City employees, and
WHEREAS, the'- bid of Commonwealth` Life Insurance has been deemed as
the best bid proposal, ..
- - NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT -ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
-SECTION 1. That the City: 'Manager be, and- he is hereby, authorized to
accept the bid of Commonwealth Life Insurance for insurance coverage for` `City of
Paducah employees., -accor"ding..to'-the terms and 'conditions of the proposal submitted
by Commonwealth _Life Insurance which 7proposal was received and fired' with the
minutes of the Board of Commissioner's -meeting` -held .on; April 10,, 1979.
SECTION 2. The .payment for, said: life insurance shall be charged to
General Fund Account No., 1.44.0.
SECTION 3. That Subsection (c) of Section 2-28 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of ;Paducah, Kentucky,, is' hereby •amendted to read-, as follows:
"Sub -sec. (c) . The Commonwealth Life Insurance Company of Louisville,
Kentucky, having proposed, a:: plan of -such.7 group life insurance and by the term
of which each member of said group of insurance as herein provided would have
an insurance benefit on his life in the sum of $10,000.00, the Mayor is authorized
to execute by signing, on behalf of the City, an application or contract for the
procurement of such insurance".
SECTION ` 4'. " This ordinance shall -be introduced. and remain ori- file for
one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall 'be put upon
its final passage, and if adopted shall be -in full; force and effect -,ten' (10Y days
thereafter.
