HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/02-02/03/01FEBRUARY 2, 2001 AND FEBRUARY 3, 2001 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2001, Mayor Paxton presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Smith and Mayor Paxton (4). Commissioner Montgomery was absent (1). R & F NOTICES Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the executed Notices of Called Meeting for 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, and for 8:00 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2001, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Smith and Mayor Paxton (4). MOTION TO ADJOURN TO SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3 Commissioner Smith offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that when this meeting adjourns, it stand adjourned to meet here at 8:00 a.m., tomorrow, February 3, 2001. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Smith and Mayor Paxton (4). Mayor Paxton stated that the Ayes have it and that when the meeting adjourns this evening, it will adjourn to meet at 8:00 a.m, tomorrow. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Abraham offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board go into closed session for discussion of matters pertaining to the following topics: 1. Issues which might lead g a to the appointment, dismissal or disciplining of an employee, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(f). Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Smith and Mayor Paxton (4). FEBRUARY 3, 2001 8:00 A.M. The Board of Commissioners continued their adjourned meeting in executive session. Commissioner Coleman was absent. At the close of executive session Mayor Paxton declared the meeting in open session. EMPLOY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR Commissioner Smith offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Abraham, that the City of Paducah employ Bob Freudenthal as Public Works Director, and further moved that the City Manager prepare an employment agreement with Mr. Freudenthal for adoption by the Commission next at the next meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, February 13, with the following terms: ➢ $64,000 annual salary from the City ➢ Participation in State Retirement System or $5,000 per year deferred compensation for retirement ➢ 6 months severance ➢ Up to $4,000 reimbursement of relocation expense and up to $2,500 reimbursement for cost of temporary housing in Paducah V, 321 322 Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Smith and Mayor Paxton (3).
