AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT--OF-$3,636.00 TO DIAMOND
CRYSTAL. SALT COMPANY -FOR ADDITIONAL SALT, USED- ON . THE .STREETS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, 'RATIFYING' THE ACTION OF"THE- CITY" MANAGER,--A-ND DECLARING
AN -EMERGENCY TO EXIST
WHEREAS," Ordinance No: 78=10=1622, adopted by'the Board of Commissioners
on October 10, 1978, authorized the purchase of approximately 450- ton`s: of salt from
Diamond Crystal Salt Company, for the sum of $18.84 per ton f'.o:b. Paducah, Ken-
tucky j and
WHEREAS; due .-to � the unusually : large accumulation - of snow during the
winter- of 19:78=79; 450 tons of salt was; insufficient for maintaining .passable streets,
, - and .
WHEREAS, the City Manager,- pursuant to KRS 424.260; certified an -..
emergency existed and authorized the immediate procural of the necessary salt,-.
NOW, -THEREFORE, , - BE IT -`-OR;DAINED BY THE. BOARD. OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKYc
SECTION 1. That the City
-pay- the invoice
of Diamond =Crystal
Salt
Company, in the- amount of -$3,636:. 00
- for additional
salt used 'upon the
streets of
the City, said invoice being in substantial 'compliance -with the 'quotatior 'submitted
by Diamond Crystal Salt Company.
SECTION 2. The action of the City :Manager, pursuant to KRS 424.260,
certifying an emergency existed is hereby approved and his actions thereunder -are
hereby ratified,., -
SECTION 3. The purchase price for said salt shall be charged to Federal
Revenue Sharing Account No. 3412.
SCTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one week
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted
shall be in full force- and effect immediately thereafter.
