HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/30/01454 OCTOBER 30, 2001 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, at 5:00 p.m., October 30, 2001, Mayor Paxton presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Montgomery, Smith and Mayor Paxton (5). v' R & F NOTICES Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Montgomery, that the Notice of Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah for 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2001, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Montgomery, Smith and Mayor Paxton (5). WORKSHOP MAYOR'S COMMUITY RETREAT ✓ Mayor Paxton gave a report on the Mayor's Community Retreat that was held on Saturday, November 27, at the Senior Citizens Center. PATS PLANS & ACTIVITIES Gary Kitchin gave the Commission a briefing on PATS plans and activities. We, ORDINANCE — EMERGENCY LETTER OF CREDIT FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BUILDING IN INFORMATION AGE PARK Commissioner Montgomery offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board of Commissioners introduce and adopt an ordinance entitled, "AN ' ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO EXECUTE AN IRREVOCABLE STAND-BY LETTER OF CREDIT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $600,000, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST". This ordinance is summarized as follows: Authorizing the Mayor to procure a $600,000 irrevocable stand-by letter of credit designating the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority as beneficiary so as to secure the promise of the Paducah -McCracken County Industrial Development Authority to complete and sell a shell building in the Information Age Park and satisfy the Authority by no later than December 31, 2004. ORD.NO.2001-10-6449, BOOK 29, P /%r PARKS & RECREATION MASTER PLAN Mark Thompson reported on progress of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. CITY MANAGER REPORT • Calendar Items ✓ • Workshop scheduled for Tuesday, November 6 at 4:30 p.m. EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Montgomery offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board go into closed session for discussion of matters pertaining to the following topics: 1. Issues which might lead to the appointment, dismissal or disciplining of an employee, as permitted by KRS 61.810)(1)(f) 2. A specific proposal by a business entity where public discussion of the subject matter would jeopardize the location, retention, expansion or upgrading of a business entity, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(g). 455 Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Abraham, Coleman, Montgomery, Smith and Mayor Paxton (5).
