ORDINANCE NO. 79-2-1685
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GENE GRIEF AND SONS, INC.
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF THE SUM OF $55,000.00 FROM COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, FOR EXPANSION AND RENOVATION OF THE
WEST KENTUCKY EASTER SEAL CENTER FOR. HANDICAPPED CHILDREN AND ADULTS,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH
EXPANSION AND RENOVATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Gene Grief and
Sons, Inc . , for expansion and renovation of the West Kentucky Easter Seal Center
for Handicapped Children and Adults, in the total amount of $68,872.00, said
bid being in substantial compliance' with the bid specifications and advertisement
for bids as was authorized by Resolution passed by the Board of Commissioners
November 14, 1978, and as contained in the bid of : Gene Grief and Sons, Inc . ,
dated February 2, 1979.
SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah expend the sum of $55,000-.0'
from Community Development Block Grant Funds for the aforesaid expansion and
renovation and that the balance of the aforesaid bid price be the responsibility
of the West Kentucky Easter Seal Center for Handicapped Children and Adults.
SECTION 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to execute a contract with Gene Grief and Sons, Inc . , for expansion and renovation
of the West Kentucky Easter Seal Center for Handicapped Children and Adults
authorized in Sections 1 -and 2 above, according to the- specifications, bid
proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in the bid.
SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one
week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage and
if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
