Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Comm.issioner.H.ornsby, that the
offer of Lee Livingston in the amount of $4,200.00 for the purchase . of all right, title
and interest.. of the City _in forty-two ,_(42). various surplus parcels .of .land, be accepted.��

Commissioner, _Harvey.offered. motion,.seconded by Commissioner Hornsby., as .follows:
WHEREAS.,.., the Kentucky Crime Commission has approved and f.unde.d .Project. No,_
71A0087 -0038-I, to provide for the_ position and services of Evidence .Col,lectors, from
January 1, 1972 through December 31, 1972, and
WHEREAS,. funds have been made available to -,pay the salaries. of -two ,patrolmen.. to
be -assigned to the positions .of Evidence Collectors, together with payment for all,_.
retirement fund contributions, benefits,_ expenses,.and costs.,for overtime work,..
NOW THEREFORE, _I. move that Charles Dykes and James ,Eis_on,., patrolmen ,.in, the Paducah
Police Department, be assigned to the temporary duty as Evidence Collectors for the
City of Paducah,.. Kentucky., ,and •until further action by this, .Board, and _tha.t the. salary
for each patrolman so assigned be the same as he is otherwise entitled to as_a patrolman
in the Paducah Police. Department., plus all pay and allowances ,for _ pensions, vacation and
sick, leave as they .are now receiving, and I further- move _that _the effective date of S111
assignment be January, -I, 197.2 .
I further move that the Chief of the Paducah Police Department be designate_,d. as
administrator for the said project and that he be authorized to. designate _and account
for an off-duty police officer of the .Paducah Police. Department to serve .as replacement
for the Evidence Collectors during times of sickness or vacation during the project
year at the same pay scale as provided for the said collectors, and I finally move that
the said administrator be authorized to account for all overtime pay and to otherwise
be authorized to direct and account for the activities of the project.` Adopted on

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
claim of Joseph Rudolph Thomas" in the amount of $94.66 fordamages to his automobile
resulting from a collision with a Paducah police cruiser on December 15, 1971, at the
intersection of Lone Oak and Berger Roads be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be
authorized'to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release.

commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear,'that upon

the recommendation of the city manager, the following personnelchanges be made:
1. The resignation of Harold Coleman as Intern Treasurer in the Finance
Office.be accepted, effective December 27, 19711
2. The following patrolmen be promoted to sergeants in the Paducah Police
Department, effective January 3, 197-2:

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that -all
bids received for construction of sewer extensions and a lift station in the area of
Kennedy and Lone Oak Roads be received, filed and rejected. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor'Cherry (4).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion,'seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copy of the Lease between the City of Paducah -Kentucky and- James G. Johnson,
dated December 20, 19711, be ' received and filed. Adopted on-call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4):
Commissioner Puryear-offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, as, -=follows
Pursuant to Section 29-26 of the Code of Ordinances -City of Paducah; I move that the'
time for completion of the work of the -Board of Equalization be extended from four to f ve
weeks, or so much thereof as is necessary to complete their work. -Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Putyear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Mayor Cherry offered -the following motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey:
I move that the following persons be employed as patrolmen in the Police Depart-
ment at a salary -"of $530.00 per month:
Eugene Edward Hampton, effective January 3, 1972
Tony W. Nethery, effective January 3, 1972
John D. Tucker, effective January 3, 1972
Bruce Darwin Pemberton, effective January,3, 1972
Provided by such time they furnish,. at their own expense, satisfactory medical reports
as to their physical condition, including electrocardiograms. Adopted on call of the

DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE

CITY OF ITS REQUIREMENT OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS
LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE
CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1972 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1972, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID COMPANY", be adopted. Adopted on call of
