At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 P.M. on August 3, 1971, Mayor Cherry pre-
sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) .
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 5:00 p.m. on August 3, 1971, be received and filed. Adopted on ca
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,' Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and 'Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, as follows: The
term of office of Dr. C. P. Orr as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Paducah
Public Library having expired on June 14, 1971, I hereby reappoint Dr. C. P. Orr a member
of said Board for a term of four years, so that said Board shall be composed of the
following:
George Crounse whose -term.-.will expire June 14, 1972
Jack Rottgering whose term will expire June 14, 1972
Betty Whitlow,whose term _will, expire June 14; _,1,973 - -
Lynn M. Cherry whose term will expire June 14, 1973

Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
Certificate -of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company .of New York to Elvir
L. Cooper, d/b/a Cooper Plumbing & Heating and the -City of Paducah,. Kentucky-; for a peric
of one year from August 21, 1971, be received, approved and filed: _-Ad-,opted on-call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby; Puryear and, -Mayer ;Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Allan Rhodes, Inc., for
sale to the City of two new 1971 Ford one-half ton pickup trucks for use in the Public
Works Department, and one new 1971 Ford one-half ton pickup truck _for use in the Cemetery
Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the
executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Allan Rhodes, Inc., for
sale to the City of a 1971 4 -door Custom 500 Ranch Wagon for use in the Police Department
be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that Mose
Wilson, temporary laborer in the Refuse Division of the Public Works Department, be made
a permanent employee in said division, retroactive to July 12, 1971, at a salary of
$2.40 per hour. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Allan Rhodes, Inc., for
sale to the City of a 1971 one-half ton pickup truck for use at the Sewage Treatment
Plant, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Alice Torian of the
northeast corner of Lot No. 350 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove
Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to
said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MOTOROLA COMMUNICATIONS &
ELECTRONICS, INC. FOR SALETO THE CITY -OF ONE FM=TWO=WAY MOBILE RADIO UNIT FOR USE BY
THE CRIMINALISTICS COORDINATOR IN THE PADUCAH POLICE�DEPARTMENT; AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be -adopted. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby., Puryear and Mayor Ch-erry-(5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY CLOSING SOUTH 25TH STREET BETWEEN BROADWA
AND KENTUCKY AVENUE DURING THE CONSTRUCTION'AND EXTENSION AT WESTERN-.BAPTIST_HOSPITAL"
be adopted. Adopted on'call of the -Roll, Yeas-, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby
Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.-
