ORDINANCE NO. 82-9- 2289
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF A STRIP OF LAND TO THE CITY OF
PADUCAH FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF PADUCAH WATER WORKS
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Paducah Water Works will construct a new
water treatment plant, and
WHEREAS', the Commissioners"of Paducah Water Works will have to run an
intake line and pumping station from Sixth Street to the Ohio River, along Burnett
Street right-of-way extended, and -
WHEREAS, said property is presently owned by the City of Paducah, Ken-
tucky.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION -l. The kaayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with the
Commissioners of Water Works to transfer from the City of Paducah, a strip of land
between the floodwall on the north side of Sixth Street and the Ohio river running
adjacent to Burnett Street right-of-way extended, to - the City 1. of Paducah for the
use and benefit of Paducah Water Works, said property more particularly described
as follows:
Being a portion of Lot No. 27 of the Flournoy, Norton, Trimble and
Harris Addition to the City.of Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky,
the plat of said addition being of record in Deed Book 1-1011, page
230 of the McCracken County Court Clerk's office, said portion of
Lot No. 27 being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the herein described property,
said corner being -located at the point of intersection of a line
105.00' north of and parallel to the northerly right-of-way line of
North 6th.Street with the easterly right-of-way line of Burnett
Street, said streets having rights-of-way widths of sixty (60).
feet; thence from said southwest corner in a northeasterly di-
rection and with the easterly right -.of -way line of .Burnett.Street,
12811, more or less, to the low water mark of the Ohio River;
thence in a southeasterly direction toward Broadway,.and.with the
meanders of the Ohio River low water mark to a point located
100.00' east of and perpendicular to..the.easterly right-of-way line
of the aforesaid Burnett Street; thence in a southwesterly di-
rection leaving said river and with a line parallel to said Burnett
Street, 1,000 feet, more or less, to a point located 355.00' north
of and perpendicular to the northerly right-of-way line of said
North 6th Street; thence in a southeasterly direction and with a
deflection angle of 930 -58' to the left 150.361; thence in a
southwesterly direction, with a deflection angle of 930 -58' to the
right and parallel to Burnett Street, 250.60' to a point located
105.00' north of and perpendicular to the northerly right-of-way
line of the aforesaid North 6th Street; thence with a deflection
angle of 86° -02' to the right and with a line parallel to North
6th Street, 250.60' to the point of beginning, the west and south
lines described herein forming a deflection angle of 93° -581,
The above described property contains 163,824 square feet, more or
less, or 3.76 acres, more or less.
Being a portion of the same property conveyed to the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, by the Kentucky Brick Company by deed dated
December 27, 1939, of record in Deed Book 200, page 293 of the
McCracken County Court Clerk's office.
SECTION 2. The Corporation Counsel is authorized to draw all deeds and
any other documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of this ordinances.
