AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH JAKE BROWN
AND ASSOCIATES AS AUCTIONEER FOR THE PUBLIC AUCTION OF SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY AND
REAL ESTATE OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH DURING THE CALENDAR YEAR 1982
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah owns surplus personal property and real estate
which are no longer of value to the City for governmental purposes, and
WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statutes allows the City to dispose of excess
property by means of a public auction, and
WHEREAS, Jake Brown and Associates have submitted a proposal to the City
for auctioning said surplus personal property and real estate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into a
contract with Jake Brown and Associates to act as auctioneer for the City.of Paducah
to sell surplus personal property and real estate, to be designated by the Board of
Commissioners, during the calendar year 1982.
SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay Jake Brown and
Associates a fee for their services computed as follows:
1.. A commission of,10% on all vehicles and equipment;
2. A commission of 7% on all real estate;
3. Advertising costs to be agreed upon by the City Manager and
Mayor;
4. Furnish all necessary personnel to conduct auctions;
5. Provide necessary storage facilities at no charge.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
