ORDINANCE NO. 81-11-2171
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, BY ANNEXING
CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND DEFINING
ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SAID PROPERTY TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE SAID CORPORATE
LIMITS
WHEREAS, on August 11, 1981, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, passed an
ordinance proposing annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation was pursuant to KRS _81A.420 and no
petition to have an election on the annexation has .been filed with the City within
sixty (60) days of said August ll, 1981, and
WHEREAS, the property is contiguous to the present corporate limits of the
City, and it is desirable and necessary to annex the hereinafter described property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described property be annexed to, and be
made a part of, the City of Paducah, Kentucky; the said real property being more
particularly and accurately described as follows:
PARCEL "B"- KENTUCKY OAKS MALL
Situated in the County of McCracken, State of Kentucky, and being
more fully described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerline of
Interstate Highway 24 and the centerline of U.S. Route 60, said
point being centerline Station 50 + 00 of U.S. Route 60 as shown
on Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Highways, Project No.
73-437-13 highway plans; thence S 67°16'28°' W, along the
centerline of U.S. 60, a distance of 452.07 feet to a point;
thence to the right and perpendicular to said centerline, a
distance of 108.69 feet to a point, said point being the point of
intersection of the west right of way line of Interstate Highway
24 with the north right of way line of U.S. Route 60; thence N
03°52'26" W, along the westerly right of way line of Interstate
24, a distance of 663.56 feet to a point at the southeast corner
of land formerly owned by Ward; thence N 10°53'01" W, along the
westerly right of way line of Interstate 24, a distance of 444.81
feet to a point at the southeast corner of land formerly owned by
Beamon and the true place of beginning for the parcel herein
described; thence N 78°38'54" W, along the south line of land
formerly owned by Beamon and the existing city limits line of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, a distance of 351.92 feet to a point;
thence N 79°06'46" W, along the south line of land formerly owned
by Beamon and the existing city limits line of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, a distance of 705.66 feet to an iron pin at
the southwest corner of land formerly owned by Beamon; thence N
18°24'54" E, along the west line of land formerly owned by
Beamon, a distance of 1553.59 feet to a point on the westerly
right of way line of Interstate Highway 24; thence S 18°04'34" E,
along the westerly right of way line of Interstate 24 and the
existing city limits line of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, a
distance of 1763.63 feet to a point and the true place of
beginning and containing within the enclosed Parcel "B" 18.680

acres of land more or less as taken from a survey prepared by
Florence & Hutcheson, Inc., dated September 28, 1979, revised
December, 1980 and entitled "Plat of Survey of the Proposed
Kentucky Oaks Mall Site for The Cafaro Company.t°
SECTION 2. This ordinance of annexation shall be read on two separate days
and upon publication the territory described above shall become a part of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky for all purposes.
