ORDINANCE NO. 81-8-2134
AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY
OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO'BE'ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY
OF SUCH ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, KRS 81A.420 provides that a City must annex unincorporated
territory, and -

to annex the hereinafter described land and consents to said annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent and
contiguous to the corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter, be
annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and that said property so proposed to be
annexed is accurately described as follows:
PARCEL "B"- KENTUCKY OAKS MALL
Situated in the County of McCracken, State of Kentucky, and being more
fully described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the centerline of Interstate
Highway 24 and the centerline of U.S. Route 60, said point being centerline
Station 50 + 00 of U.S. Route 60 as shown on Commonwealth of Kentucky,
DeBartment of Highways, Project No. 73-437-13 highway plans; thence S
67 16128" W, along the centerline of U.S. 60, a distance of 452.07 feet to
a point; thence to the right and perpendicular to said centerline, a
distance of 108.69 feet to a point, said point being the point of
intersection of the west right of way line of Interstate Highway 24 with
the north right of way line of U.S. Route 60; thence N 03°52'2611 W, along
the westerly right of way line of Interstate 24, a distance of 663.56 feet
to a point at the southeast corner of land formerly owned by Ward; thence N
10°5310111 W, along the westerly right of way line of Interstate 24, a
distance of 444.81 feet to a point at the southeast corner of land formerly
owned by Beamon and the true place of beginning for the parcel herein
described; thence N 7803815411 W, along the south line of land formerly
owned by Beamon and the existing city limits line of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, a distance of 351.92 feet to a point; thence N 7900614611 W, along
the south line of land formerly owned by Beamon and the existing city
limits line of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, a distance of 705.66 feet to
an iron pin at the southwest corner of land formerly owned by Beamon;
thence N 18°2415411 E, along the west line of land formerly owned by Beamon,
a distance of 1553.59 feet to a point on the westerly right of way line of
Interstate Highway 24; thence S 1800413411 E, along the westerly right of
way line of Interstate 24 and the existing city limits line of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, a distance of 1763.63 feet to a point and the true place
of beginning and containing within the enclosed Parcel "B11 18.680 acres of
land more or less as taken from a survey prepared by Florence & Hutcheson,
Inc., dated September 28, 1979, revised December, 1980 and entitled "Plat
of Survey of the Proposed Kentucky Oaks Mall Site for The Cafaro Company.tl
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City
of Paducah,. Kentucky, by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is
desirable and necessary.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in The Paducah Sun, a
newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by the Kentucky Revised
Statutes, and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become
effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in
Section 1 Hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of
this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of sixty days
after the enactment of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be -read on two separate days and will be
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
