AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF WHEELER AVENUE
AND AN ALLEY PERPENDICULAR THERETO, THROUGH HENRY CLAY SCHOOL
PROPERTY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing
of Wheeler Avenue and a 16 foot alley perpendicular thereto, through Henry Clay
School property, and more particularly described as follows:
WHEELER AVENUE
Beginning at the southwest corner of the intersection of Wheeler
Avenue and Joe Bryan Drive, also known as "A" Street; thence
in a northerly direction along the westerly line of "A" Street
approximately 60 feet to the southeast corner of a lot owned by
the Board of Education of Paducah; thence in a westerly direction
with the southern boundary line of that said lot approximately
336 feet to the east line of "B" Street; thence 60 feet in a south-
erly direction along the east line of "B" Street extended, to the
northwest corner of a lot owned by the Board of Education of
Paducah; thence with the northern boundary line of that lot in
an easterly direction approximately 336 feet to the point of begin-
ning. Being the same parcel of land now known as that part of
Wheeler Avenue which lies between Joe Bryan Drive or "A" Street
and "B" Street.
16 FOOT ALLEY
Beginning at a point in the northern boundary line of that
portion of Wheeler Avenue which is requested to be closed,
approximately 160 feet northwest of the northern boundary
line of Joe Bryan Drive, also known as "A" Street, thence
in a northeasterly direction at right angles with Wheeler
Avenue and parallel with Joe Bryan Drive, approximately
300 feet to a point in the northern boundary of a lot owned
by the Board of Education of Paducah; thence northwest at
right angles to the preceding line and parallel with Wheeler
Avenue, approximately 16 feet to a point, said point being
approximately 160 feet southeast of the southern boundary of
"B" Street; thence southwest at right angles with the pre-
ceding line and parallel to "B" Street, approximately 300
feet to a point in the northern boundary of that portion of
Wheeler Avenue which is requested to be closed, and
approximately 160 feet southeast of "B" Street; thence south-
east with the line of Wheeler Avenue, approximately 16 feet
to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute
and prosecute, pursuant to KRS 82.405, an action in McCracken Circuit Court
for a judgment ordering the closing of the avenue and alley described in Section
1 above.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and

will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
