ORDINANCE NO. 84-12-2622
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-48, ADMINISTRATION, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WHEREAS*,"-'KRS 83A.075, adopted by the Legislator of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky, provides that,the compensation of mayor and members of the city
r
legislative bodies may be adjusted annually for the increase or decrease in consumer
price index of thepreceding year by using 1949 as the base year; and
WHEREAS, the salary -of --the mayor -and salary of the board of commissioners
have not been changed since January 3, 1972; and -
WHEREAS, it is the desire'of the -Board of Commissioners of the City of
Paducah to make adjustments allowed by KRS 83A.075.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF-PADUCAH AS FOLLOWS:

Sec. 2-48. Mayor and commissioners, shall be amended to read as follows:
Effective January 8 1, 19;8 1986, the salary of the mayor shall be.the sum
of ten thousand dollars ($10;000.00)
per year. $rid-a-ssa-e -Effective January 1, 198.6, the salary of each member of
the board of commissioners shall be the sum of four -thousand eight hundred dollars
{$43888..-88} seven thousand two hundred dollars ($7,200.00) per year. -
Effective July 1, 1986, the salary of the mayor and commissioners shall be
adjusted annually to increase or decrease said salary in line with the Consumer
Price Index of the preceding calendar year, using 1949 as the base year, in
accordance with Section 246 of the Constitution of Kentucky, based on the report of
the Finance and Administration Cabinet, published between January 1 and the second
Friday in February of that year:.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
