ORDINANCE NO. 84-6-2517
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MICROFILMING OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH'S RECORDS
WHEREAS, on June 6, 1983 the Public Records Division, Kentucky Department
for Libraries and Archives and the State Historical Records Advisory Board were
awarded a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission to
initiate a local records demonstration program in Kentucky, and
WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $5,500 was awarded to Paducah on
September 2, 1983 for microfilming and preserving Paducah's records, and
WHEREAS, several quotations have been received by the City for microfilming
and preserving the City's records, however, only one company had the capability to do
said microfilming in Paducah.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the quotation of Southern
Rebinding, Inc., for reproducing, microfilming, and binding copies of permanent
records of the City of Paducah, including Ordinance Books, Minute Books, sewer maps,
etc., up to the sum of $5,500, as set out in their letter of May 23, 1984.
SECTION 2. The cost of the microfilming, etc. shall be paid from the grant
received from the Kentucky Department for Libraries & Archives.
SECTION 3.
In
order
to
complete this
project as
soon as possible, an
emergency is declared
to
exist
and
this ordinance
shall be in
full force and effect
upon its passage with one reading.
