ORDINANCE NO. 84-2-2468
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF AN ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN JEFFERSON
AND MONROE, AND MONROE AND NORTH SECOND STREETS AND THE FLOODWALL
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing of an
alley located between Jefferson and Monroe (former right-of-way of Monroe Street), and
Monroe and North Second Streets and the Floodwall, and more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the north right-of-way line of Jefferson,
said point being 173.25 feet east of the point of intersection of
the east right of way line of 2nd Street and the north right-of-
way line of Jefferson Street; thence in a northerly direction
along herein described alley west right- of -way line a distance of
412 feet plus or minus to a point in the north boundary of said
alley, and also being the former north right-of-way line of Monroe
Street; thence in an easterly direction along the north boundary
of said alley,a,distance of 16.5 feet to a point in the east right
of way line of said alley; thence in a southerly direction along
said alley -east right-of-way line a distance of 412 feet plus or
minus to the north right-of-way line of Jefferson; thence in a
westerly direction along the north right-of-way line of Jefferson
a distance of 16.5 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute and prosecute,
pursuant to KRS 82.405, an action in the McCracken Circuit Court for a judgment
ordering the closing of the alley described in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
