AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-49, "CIVIL SERVICE" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 10-49 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 10-49. Department of finance.
This department shall be under the direction and supervision
of the city treasurer - finance director, a noncivil service
position which has heretofore been created by separate ordi-
nance.
(a) There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the department
of finance, and the salary of each position that shall be paid upon satisfactory completion of
consecutive years of service, in this position, and upon recommendation of the City Manager:

(b) For such period of time as the City of Paducah receives and must account for
general revenue sharing funds and any special revenue sharing funds from the United States
Government, the auditor and bookkeeper shall be compensated for their extra services in an
amount as follows: Auditor $41.00 per month effective July 1, 1984, and $42.00 per month
effective July 1, 1985. Bookkeeper $27.00 per month effective July 1, 1984, and $28.00 per
month effective July 1, 1985. Any of the foregoing positions in subsection (a) may hereafter
from time to time be designated for payment from said revenue sharing funds upon motion duly
passed by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah".

SECTION 2. In order for these changes to be effective July 1, 1985, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be effective upon its passage with one
reading.
