ORDINANCE NO. 85-2-2649
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF SOUTHERN STATES ASPHALT COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE
CITY OF ITS REQUIREMENT OF ASPHALT FOR THE YEAR 1985-86, TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION AND
REPAIR WORK, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Southern States Asphalt
Company, dated January 17, 1985, for sale to the City of its 1985-86 "requirement of asphalt to
be used in street construction and repair work, for the following prices:
AE -200 (approximately 10,000 gal.) $0.775
RS -2 (approximately 1,000 gal.) $0.715
Primer L (approximately 1,000 gal.) $1.035
Pug Mill Rental (per gal. of AE -200) $0.05
The above prices include delivery to any point in the City of Paducah in minimum
transport quantities -of 5,000 gallons. Terms: Net Thirty (30) days.
Said bid being in substantial compliance with a Municipal Order authorized by the
Board of Commissioners on December 11, 1984, and as contained in the bid of Southern States
Asphalt Company, dated January 17, 1985.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Southern States
Asphalt -Company for the purchase of the items set forth in Section 1 above, according to the
specifications, bid proposal and all contract documents heretofore approved and incorporated in
the bid.
SECTION 3. That Southern States Asphalt Company will furnish to the City, within ten
(10) days after execution of said contract, a performance bond in the amount of $1,000.00.
SECTION 4. The purchase price for said asphalt shall be charged to FRS Street Paving
and Construction and/or Municipal Aid Program Funds.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective
upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
