At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 P.M. on May 25, 1971, Mayor Cherry 'presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, H,,rnsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of. Called
Meeting to be held at 4:30 p.m., on May 25, 1971, be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor
Cherry (5) .
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment.: The term of office of William Switze
as a member of the Parks, Playground and Recreation Board of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, expired on May 14, 1971, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of
Commissioners, reappoint the said William Switzer. -.for a further term of four (4) years,
so that said Board shall be composed of the following members:
Rollie France whose term expires May 14, 1972
Anna Mae Holman whose term expires May 14, 1972
Ed Hank whose term expires May 14, 1973
Melvin Taylor whose teem expies May 14, 1974
William Switzer whose term expires May 14, 1975
Commissioner Hcrnsby offered -motion, seconded:by Commissioner Puryear that the
action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry reappointing William Switzer a member of the Parks,
Playground and Recreation Board of the City of Paducah; Kentucky, be approved.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor Cherry (5) .
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Paducah Laundry and
Cleaners, Inc. dated January 25, 1971 for furnishing uniforms for the refuse division
personnel, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby; Puryear and Mayor Cherry: (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher; that the
lowing personnel changes be made:
1. Harry Wright, equipment -operator in the.-Street.Division, be transferred to the
refuse Division, as equipment operator, effective May 17, 1971
2. Freddie Bundren, Jr., be transferred from Mechanic Helper to auto repairman, in the
Street Division, effective May. -,31-i-.1971
3. Thomas Nickols, foreman in the Street Division, be transferred to the position of
street superintendent, effective May 17, 1971.
4. Joe Garner, concrete finisher, be transferred to sewer maintenance man, effective
May., 311 1971.. ,.
5. Paul Roberts, concrete finisher, be transferred to street repairman.; effective
May 31, 1971.
6. Curtis E. Garner, concrete finisher, be transferred to truck driver, effective

Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, as follows:
I move that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay the claim and judgment of Mary
Jackson, Tommie Wilson and their Attorney, Joseph S. Freeland, in -the amount of $600.00,
and I further move that the said Treasurer be authorized to pay the McCracken Circuit
Court Clerk all costs in Civil Action No. 8719, including a fee in the amount of
$25.00 for court reporting services rendered by James Arthur Joplin, with the first
said check being chargable to the Suits & Claims Account and the second check being
charged to the Court Costs Account. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that

Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance
