At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on April 27, 1971, Mayor
Protem Harvey presided in the absence of Mayor Cherry, and upon call of the Roll
the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor Protem Harvey (4) .
Mayor Protem Harvey offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for
April 13, 20 and 23, 1971 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared
by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll,"Yeas,
Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Protem Harvey (4).
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that
upon recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes -be made:
1. The following persons be employed in the Street Division of the
Public Works Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retro-
active to April 19, 1971:

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
the executed copy of the contract between Johnston Machinery Company and the City,
for the purchase of a 1971 Catch Basin Cleaner and Ford Truck with Flusher Attachment,
for use in the Public Works Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Protem Harvey (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
the following bids on a pumping engine for use in the Fire Department, be received
and filed:
Midwest Fire & Safety Equipment Company
Peter Pirsch & Sons Company
Maxim Motor Division of The Seagrave Corporation
Hahn Motors, Inc.
The Howe Fire Apparatus Company
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that
the reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of April, 1971, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor Protem Harvey (4).
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION FAVORING THE IMMEDIATE CONSTRUCTION OF INTERSTATE
HIGHWAY 24 IN AND AROUND THE CITY OF PADUCAH", be adopted. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Protem Harvey (4).

Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF SANCO CORPORATION FOR THE SALE
TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) 1971 TRUCK WITH COMPACTOR AND FOR STATIONARY CONTAINERS FOR USE
IN THE REFUSE DIVISION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor
Protem Harvey (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion,
seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF COMMUNITY PROGRAM
CONSULTANTS, INC. AND FLORENCE AND HUTCHESON, INC. TO PERFORM ENGINEERING SERVICES IN
CONNECTION WITH THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT TO PROVIDE
SECONDARY WASTE WATER TREATMENT FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT COVERING SUCH EMPLOYMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY", be
adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear
and Mayor Protem Harvey (4) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1971 AND APPROPRIATING THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND
INCOME OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR SUCH PURPOSES", be adopted. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Protem Harvey (4).
Mayor Protem Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ROCKWELL MANUFACTURING COMPANY
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF APPROXIMATELY 160 MANUALLY OPERATED PARKING METERS, HEADS AND
COIN BOXES, AND YOKES AS APPLICABLE, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Protem Harvey (4).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
