At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 P.M. on October 20, 1970, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to their names: Commissione
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 5:00 P.M. on October 20, 1970;
be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the bid
t submitted by Wilson Chevrolet -Cadillac, Inc. for sale to the City of one or more
trucks without bodies, for use in'the Refuse Division, be received and filed. I furt
move that said bid be rejected. Adopted on call of'the Roll, Yeas, -'Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher. that the
letter of Joseph Smith,'an employee in the Refuse Division of the Public Works Depart-
ment, dated October 7, 1970, relinquishing any and all rights he has under the civil
service ordinances of the City of Paducah in order to accept the position of foreman
in the Refuse Division, which position is non -civil service, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and
yor Cherry (5) .
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home
of the south one-half of Lot No. 418 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak
Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance
to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Belmont Equipment Company,
Inc. for sale to the City of six (6) three -wheel refuse vehicles for use in the Refuse
Division, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the
City of Paducah covering work done by Seth E. Giem Associates, for a period of one year
from November 7, 1970, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by The Ohio Casualty Insurance Company to Charles E.
Crowell d/b/a.Crowell Concrete Construction Company, for a period of one year from

October 5, 1970, together with Bond in the amount of $2,000.00 dated October 5, 1970,
be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company to Amos Wahl
Contractor, for a period of one year from September 18, 1970, be received, approved
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that upon recommen-
dation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made:
1. James W. Perry, an Applicant -Candidate in the Fire Department, has
-satisfactorily completed the 60 day training period as such
Applicant -Candidate as provided by ordinance, he is hereby appointed
a fireman in the Fire Department, at a salary of $490.00 per month,
retroactive to October 16, 1970
2. William E. Green be employed as temporary Dog Warden at a salary of $2.00
per hour, effective October 20, 1970.
3. Paul Chilton, temporary employee in the Street Division of the
Public Works Department, be terminated, retroactive to October 12, 1970

Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a

resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
ONE OR TWO TRUCKS, WITHOUT BODIES, FOR USE IN THE REFUSE DIVISION OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE
SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE (1) NEW 1 -TON DUMP TRUCK FOR USE IN THE CEMETERY DEPARTMENT", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and
or Cherry (5) .
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN
LITTLETON, INC. AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SITE
IMPROVEMENTS IN THE OAKLAWN CODE ENFORCEMENT AREA OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
WHICH CONTRACT WAS AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DATED JUNE
24, 1969", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF PARKER DODGE FOR THE SALE TO THE
CITY OF ONE (1) 1971 ONE-HALF TON PICKUP TRUCK TO BE USED AS A PATROL OR PADDY WAGON

AND CONVENTION COMMISSION, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO APPOINT THE MEMBER
TO SAID COMMISSION JOINTLY WITH.THE McCRACKEN COUNTY JUDGE", be adopted. Adopted on call of

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
WITH COMPUTER SERVICES, INC. TO PROVIDE PAYROLL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE (5) YEARS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
