At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 11:00 A.M. on May 5, 1970, Mayor -Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissione
Fisher, Harvey, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4)"-; Commissioner 'Hornsby being 'alssent (1) .
Mayor Cherry stated the meeting was called for the purpose of r-equesting bids
on an automobile for use in the Inspection Department and any other business
requiring attention.
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: - -The term of office of Melvin
Taylor -as a member of the Parks, Playground and Recreation Board of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, will expire on May 14, 1970, I hereby, subject to the approval of
the Board of Commissioners, reappoint the said Melvin Taylor for a.further term of
four (4) years, so that said board shall be composed of the following members:
William Switzer whose term expires -May -14; 1971
Rollie France whose term expires May 14, 1972
Anna Mae Holman whose term expires May -14;- 197-2-

Ed Hank whose term expires May 14, 1973
Melvin Taylor whose term expires May 14, 1974
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry reappointing Melvin Taylor as a member of the Parks,
Playground and Recreation Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be approved.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Puryear and Mayor
Cherry (4) .
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the
ar executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Tilford Plumbing &
Heating, Inc., for constructing a gravity sewer crossing under the railroad track
at Helen Street and St. Louis Avenue, and under the Cairo Road at Helen Street, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher,
Harvey, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the
executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Milam Motorcycle Shop
for sale to the city of two 1970 model Westcoaster Traffic Masters, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Puryear and
Mayor Cherry (4)
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that
a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1970 STATION WAGON FOR.USE IN THE INSPECTION
DEPARTMENT,.AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Fisher,
Puryear and Mayor Cherry (4).
