At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on April 14, 1970, Mayor
Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for March 24,
and April 7, 1970 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City
Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: The terms of office of Glenn
Schrader and Keith Bryant as members of the Paducah Golf Commission having expired
on March 26, 1970, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners,
reappoint Glenn Schrader and appoint Marshall Jones as members of said Commission
for terms of four years. Said Commission as now established shall be as follows:
William M. Carson, whose term expires March 26, 1971
Harry Bolser whose term expires March 26, 1972
-Harry B. Ford whose term expire•s •March 26, 1973
Glenn Schrader whose term expires March 26, 1974
Marshall Jones whose term expires March 26, 1974
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that
b the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry reappointing Glenn Schrader and appointing
Marshall Jones as members of the Paducah Golf Commission, be approved. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor
Cherry (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that
this Board receive and file a copy of the Order of the Department of Motor Transporta-
tion, authorizing Kelley Transportation Company, Inc. to operate a bus service in the
City of Paducah, which order is dated April 9, 1970. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (3), Nays, Commissioners Fisher
and Hornsby (2) .
VCommissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that
the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York
to Ray Black & Son and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from
April 15, 1970, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Puryear, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that
the Certificate of Insurance issued by General Accident Fire & Life Assurance Corpora-
tion to the City of Paducah covering work done by Tilford Plumbing & Heating, Inc.
for a period of one year from March 13, 1970, be received, approved and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear
and Mayor Cherry (5).

Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KAISER ALUMINUM & CHEMICAL, INC.
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF TWO (2) CORRUGATED ALUMINUM STRUCTURAL PLATE INTEGRAL ARCH
CULVERTS FOR USE IN STREET CONSTRUCTION IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE",
be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) .
Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING, RATIFYING AND AFFIRMING A FRANCHISE
GRANTED BY THE BOARD OF PARKS, PLAYGROUND AND RECREATION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, TO CARLTON WATKINS, TO OPERATE AMUSEMENT FACILITIES AND CONCESSIONS IN
NOBLE PARK, AND SETTING OUT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH FRANCHISE", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey and Hornsby (3),
Nays, Commissioner Puryear and Mayor Cherry (2) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-54 (a) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, CONCERNING AUTOMATIC AND PROGRESSIVE INCREASES FOR
APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES", be adopted. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MILAM MOTORCYCLE SHOP FOR SALE
TO THE CITY OF TWO (2) 1970 MODEL THREE WHEEL POLICE VEHICLES FOR USE BY METER MAIDS
IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of t
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
