Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the

claim of Robert Daley in the amount of $134.45 for damages arising as a result of a
collision between the vehicle owned and operated by him with a city police cruiser
operated by Paul Vines at 21st and Broadway on December 17, 1969, be allowed, and that

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, as follows:
Upon the recommendation,of the City Manager, I move that the following'personnel
changes be made:
1. The following persons be -employed as temporary pump operators in the Floodwa'll
Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour:

J. P. Long, effective January 5, 1970
Wayne McKendree, effective January 5, 1970
Cecil C. Park, effective January -1, 1970

2. The -resignation of -Sylvia Curd', secretary in the Planning Department, be
accepted, effective January 31, 1970.
3. The following temporary laborers in the Street Division of the Public Works
Department be terminated:
Floyd Roach, Jr., effective December 31, 1969
Billy Barnes, effective January 7, 1970.
4. William H. Coleman, dog warden, be terminated, effective December 31, 1969.
5. George Meadows, temporary laborer in the Street Division be transferred to the
position of Dog Warden, effective January 1, 1970, at a salary of. $2.00 per hour.
6. -Barbara Jean Wooley be employed as secretary in the Planning Department, effective
January 19, 1970, at a salary of $330.00 per month.

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
instrument signed by Xavier Yopp, granting permission to the City to cross his property
with an underground pipe, connecting the catch basin on Joe Clifton Drive with a catch
basin on 27th Street, for the purpose of draining Joe Clifton Drive just south of
Park Avenue, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Company for the month of September, 1969, be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Company for the month of December, 1969, be received

Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the claim of
Phoebe B. Minnic in the amount of $424.60 for damages to her automobile caused by a
collision with a vehicle driven by Conley K. Thompson, an employee of the Parks,
Playground and -Recreation Board, on December 5, 1969, be allowed, and that the City
Treasurer be authorized to pay same after obtaining a complete and'final release.

DIESEL FUEL AND KEROSENE FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE PERIOD OF
TIME FROM JANUARY 1, 1970 TO DECEMBER 31, 1970, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITI

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN
ORDINANCE CREATING A CIVIC BEAUTIFICATION BOARD FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND
PRESCRIBING THE MEMBERSHIP, TERMS OF OFFICE AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD', WHICH WAS
ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JULY 5, 1960, AND LAST AMENDED ON JULY 25,
1961; be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).

The Board then heard grievances of Danny Joe Crawford.
Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, as follows:
The Board having heard the grievance of Danny Joe Crawford relating to his
termination of employment with the City of Paducah, and the Board having found that
Danny Joe Crawford was employed as a temporary laborer,
NOW THEREFORE, I move that the action of the City Manager terminating the
employment of Danny Joe Crawford be approved, and that Danny Joe Crawford be terminatedil
as a temporary laborer in the Street Division of the Public Works Department, effective
December 31, 1969. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey,
Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
