At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the'Commission Chambe
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p:m. on December 5, 1972, Mayor McNutt
presided and'upon call of the Roll --the following answered to their names: Commission-
ers Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert; Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered -motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting1to be held at 4:30 p.m. on December
c5, 1972, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,. Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
claim of Henry Cooksey in the amount of $74.20 for damage to his 1970 Pontiac which
was struck by a fire truck on November 19, 1972, be allowed, and that the City
Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final
release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby,,that the
City's complusory retirement provisions be waived as to J. Y. O'Bannon of the Cemetery',
Department, and that his employment be extended fora-pe.riod of.eghteen (18) months
past February 19', 1973. - Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
r% Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motionoseconded by Commissioner Harx
Whereas, Cletus Woods was to have -been placed under C.ivil.Service as a permaner
employee of the City of Paduca-h-;- effective: May 15, 1972 on condition that he provide
evidence of a satisfactory physical condition, and
WHEREAS, the said Cletus Woods, -has failed to provide satisfactory evidence of
physical fitness, and has failed to appear for work on a regular basis.
NOW THEREFORE, I move that upon recommendation of Gene Ruoff, the Director of
Public Services, and James Thompson, Director of the. Refuse Department, that Cletus
Woods be terminated as a collector in the Refuse Department, effective December 4,
1972-. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert,
Puryear :;and Mayor McNutt ('5) .

REVENUE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1972; REVISING AND AMENDING
THE APPROPRIATION OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS, REVENUE AND INCOME ON HAND, AND COLLECTED AND
TO BE COLLECTED IN SAID YEAR; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF UNUSED APPROPRIATIONS FOR
ONE PURPOSE TO ANOTHER PURPOSE; MAKING SUCH TRANSFERS; APPROPRIATING AVAILABLE REVENUE$)
NOT INCLUDED IN THE BUDGET FOR SAID YEAR; FIXING THE APPORTIONMENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS11

Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that J. William
Howerton be appointed City Manager and Associate Counsel of the City of Paducah for anfl
indefinite period, beginning December 11, 1972, at a salary of $23,000,00 per year, a
further that he be designated a member of the Electric Plant Board of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, and for the convenience of the City he be furnished an automobile
for his use and benefit and on behalf of the City. Adopted on call of the Roll,
