At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30=P.M. on August 22, 1972,�Mayor McNutt
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names Commission-
ers Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered' motion, second=ed by Commissioner Hornsby; that the reading
of the Minutes for August 8 and 15, 19-72 be waived ,and that the Minutes -of said.
meetings prepared by the City Clerk beiapproved a's written. Adopted on call of the
f Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt made the following appointment: The term of office of Jack
Rottgering as a member of the Board of 'Trustees of the Paducah Public Library having
expired on June 14, 1972, I hereby appoint Richard Roberts a member of said Board for a
term of four (4) years, so that said Board shall be composed of the following members:
Betty Whitlow -whose term expires June 14, 1973
Lynn M. Cherry whose term expires June 14, 1973
Mary Yeiser whose term expires June 14, 1974
Lionel Minnen whose term expires June 14-, 1974
Dr. C. P. Orr whose term expires June 14, 1975
Jerry Page whose term expires June 14, 1976
Richard Roberts whose term expires June 14, 1976
Mayor McNutt made the following appointment: The term -off office of Mr"s'. Mildred
Washburn as a member of the Paducah Board of Adjustment will expire on August 31, 1972,
I hereby reappoint Mrs-.. Mildred Washburn as a member of said Board for a further term
of four (4) years, so that said Board shall be composed of the followingmembers:
Leslie Feast whose term expires August 31, 1973
Julian B. McFarland, Jr. whose term expires August 31, 1974
Carroll Walden whose term expires August 31, 1974
E. P. Larson whose term expires August 31, 1975
Mrs. Mildred Washburn whose term expires August 31, 1976
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Alice H. McNutt reappointing Mrs.
Mildred Washburn as a member of the Paducah Board of Adjustment. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the petition
protesting the showing of X-rated movies be received and filed. Adopted on call of tY

Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that David
Deboe be employed as collector in the Refuse Department retroactive to August 7, 1972,
at a salary of $2.50 per hour. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
claim of Charles Proctor in the amount of $77.70 for damage to his 1970 Ford automobile
which was struck by a Park Department vehicle on August 16, 1972, be allowed, and that
the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete anc
final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).

reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of Ju 1972, be received and filed.

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the I
executed contract between Allan Rhodes, Inc. and the City of Paducah, for the purchase I
of a 1972 Ford Pinto for use by the Crime Scene Unit of the Police Department, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsvy,1
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that
Exonerations prepared and delivered by the City Treasurer numbered 15016 through
16500 inclusive, be received and filed and the amounts of same totaling $38,133.30 be
exonerated on tax bills shown and designated by said exonerations. Adopted on call ofl
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5),

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a
t resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OR VICE PRESIDENT OF THE
PADUCAH AIRPORT CORPORATION TO EXECUTE CERTIFICATIONS ON BEHALF OF THE SPONSOR ON
ALL GRANT APPLICATIONS WITH THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear
and Mayor McNutt (5).
' Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded -by Commissioner Lambert, that an -
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND ANGELS OF
MERCY, INC., AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH CONTRACT SHALL
BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week in the completed form

in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on-call of -the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
