At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m. on May 2, 1972, Mayor McNutt presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 2, 1972, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,j::
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner H,,rnsby, that the
following personnel changes be made:
1. The following temporary employees in the Refuse Department be terminated, effective
April 28, 1972: -

2. Hildry Johnson, temporary employee in the Refuse Department, be terminated, effecti
May 1, 1972.
3. J. R. Adams be employed as temporary pump operator in the Floodwall Department,
at a salary of $2.00 per hour'; retroactive to May 1, 1972.
f4. The following part-time laborers be employed in the Parks Depar-tment, at a salary
of $2.00 per hour:
Terry Bishop, effective May 1, 1972
Michael L. Starks, effective May 11, 1972. - - -
5. The following be employed''as temporary laborers in the Street Department, at a
salary of $2.00 per hour:
Robert C. Brown, effective April 27, 1972
Charles A. Manley, effective April 27, 1972
Marvin Armstrong, effective May 1, 1972
Ray Hack, effective May 1, 1972
6. The resignation of Bob J. Haynes, Dog Warden, be accepted, retroactive to April 16,
1972.
7. Donald W. Littlejohn be employed as a temporary maintenance operator in the
floodwall department, retroactive to May 1, 1972

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of April, 1972, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
RESURFACING VARIOUS STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, INCLUDING THE RAISING AND RESETTING
OF MANHOLES", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE FOR THE YEAR 1972 (APPROX-
IMATELY 10,000 TONS) TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK", be adopted. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S REQUIREMENT OF ASPHALT (EITHER LIQUID OR EMULSIFIED,
OR BOTH) FOR THE YEAR 1972, TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR WORK", be
adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered -motion; seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolutio
entitled "A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE NATIONAL GUARD, THE CIVIC
BEAUTIFICATION --BOARD AND PADUCAH SCHOOL CHILDREN FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE IN CLEANING THE'
CITY OF PADUCAH", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). -
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID•.OF-CENTRAL PAVING COMPANY, INC.
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIRE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE .MECHANICSBURG CODE EMFORCEMENT AREA,
CONTRACT NO. 1, PROJECT NO. KY -E-2, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT'FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION", be adopted. Adopted on call of the. Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
