At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m. on April 25, 1972, Mayor McNutt
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commission
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4), Commissioner Harvey being absent.
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading
of the Minutes for April 11 and April 18, 1972 be waived and that the Minutes of said
meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
claim of Purchase Chrysler -Plymouth, Inc. in the amount of $225.52 for damage to one
of its vehicles caused by being struck by a city refuse truck, operated by Robert L.
Jones, on March 29, 1971, at 2035 South Beltline, be allowed, and that the City
Treasurer be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final
release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear
and Mayor McNutt (4).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion,seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
claim of William Forrest Flournoy in the amount of $552.01 for damages to his automobi
which was struck by a police cruiser operated by Patrolman Abernathy, on April 16, 197
at the intersection of 27th and Park Avenue, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer
be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release,

Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the

Paducah Senior Citizens, at a salary of $7.00 per session, effective May 1, 1972.

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
executed copy of the contract between the City of Paducah and Kay Uniforms, Inc.,
for sale to the city of uniforms for the Paducah Police Department, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear
and Mayor McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that a
resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTI
FOR BIDS FOR TWO (2) NEW 1972 ONE-HALF TON PICK-UP TRUCKS FOR USE IN THE STREET
DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL
BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4).

resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZIN3 THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE FULL -TYPE SWEEPER FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS
AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4).
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a:

Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution.
entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHIN
THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH UNIFORMS FOR THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL", be adopted.

McNutt (4) .
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-49 (a) AND (b) OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yea
Commissioners Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4).

ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CENTRAL PAVING COMPANY) INC.
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIS IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE MECHANICSBURG CODE ENFORCEMENT AREA,
CONTRACT NO. 1, PROJECT NO. ,KY -E-2, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECU24IVE DIREC .OR TO EXECUTE
A CONTRACT FOR SUCH CONSTRUCTION", be introduced and remain -on file for at -least
one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be: -put upon
its f ina 1 passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4).
