At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m., on April 4, 1972, Mayor McNutt
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m., on April 4, 1972, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt made the following appointment: The term of office of Harry Bolser
as a member of the Paducah Golf Commission having expired on March 26, 1972, I hereby,
subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, reappoint the said Harry Bolser
for a further term of four (4) years, so that said Commission as now established shall
be as follows:
Harry B. Ford whose term expires March 26, 1973
Glenn Schrader whose term expires March 26, 1974
Marshall Jones whose term expires March 26, 1974
Keith Bryant whose term expires March 26, '1975
Harry Bolser whose term expires March 26, 1976
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
action of Mayor Alice H. McNutt reappointing Harry Bolser a member of the Paducah Golf
Commission, be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Certificate of Insurance issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the
City of Paducah covering work done by B. H. Green and Son, for a period of one year
from March 12, 1972, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll
Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
executed copy of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Paducah and the
Kentucky Department of Highways, dated March 3, 1972, pertaining to the widening of
Park Avenue adjacent to Noble Park, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
following documents from the Paducah Public Schools concerning the 1972 tax rate for
school purposes, be received and filed:
1. Letter regarding General Fund Levy and Resolution
2. Resolution and Certification of General Fund Levy
3. Resolution and Certification for Special Building Fund Levy
4. Four copies of General Budget
5. Copy of Certified Assessment from Department of Revenue
6. Copy of Tax Rate Calculation from Department of" Education
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear
and Mayor McNutt (5) .

Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
Contract for Sale of Land in Downtown Civic Center Project Ky R-30, dated March 1, 1972,1
between the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency and the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, pertaining to the property at the southwest corner of the intersection of 5th
and Kentucky Avenue, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).

proposed contract between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and the American Federation
of State, County and Municipal Employees AFL-CIO Local 1586, dated March 31, 1972, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that
the resignation of Mrs. Patsy Crosby as a member of the Human Rights Commission,
be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KAY UNIFORMS FOR FURNISHING
THE CITY OF PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS FOR THE YEAR 1972, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5)
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE RECITING THE NEED FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN
LAND FOR A SANITARY SEWER EASEMENT TO SERVICE LOURDES HOSPITAL, AND PROVIDING FOR THE
PAYMENT OF THE PROPERTY TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE GRANTING OF TAP -ON RIGHTS", be adopted.

FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE CRUSHCHIPPER FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted.

ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND
MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES AFL-CIO LOCAL 1586, COVERING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
FOR CITY EMPLOYEES IN THE BARGAINING UNIT FOR A TWO YEAR PERIOD BEGINNING APRIL 1,
1972", be adopted. Adopted on.call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HOWE FIRE APPARATUS COMPANY, INC.
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) 1000 GALLON PER MINUTE PUMPING ENGINE FOR USE IN THE
PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
