At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at -7:3.0 P.M., on -February 8, 71972,. Mayor°:McNutt
presided and upon call of th:e'Roll the following answered to their names:- Commission

Mayor McNutt offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for January 25 and
February,l-, 1972 be waived and, -that -the Minutes of said meetings prepared. by the City
Clerk be approved as written.: -Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt made the following appointments:
WHEREAS, an'February 1, 1972, Elnora Dowdy and George Grimm were appointed
members of the -.Paducah-McCracke-ri County Recreational, Tourist- and Convention,
Commission, and
WHEREAS; Mrs. Dowdy -and Mr. Grimm will be unable o s-erve, and the Hotel, Motel
Association has recommended the appointment of Marilyn Keesee and -P, J._Gtumley,
NOW THEREFORE; I, as Mayor, jointly with the Judge :of McCracken County, hereby
appoint Merilyn -Keesee and P. J. Grumley as members of said Commission -for terms of
three years each,- so that the Commis-sion will now consist of= the following members
to serve the following prescribed terms:

Commissioner Harvey offered -motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a -copy
of the letter -of George 'Grimm, dated February 7, 1972, on behalf of the -Hotel, Motel
Association, nominating Merilyn'Keesee:and P. J. Grumley as representatives of the
organization to serve on the Paducah -McCracken County Recreational, Tourist and Con-
vention Commission, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll„ Y6as.,
Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion; seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the

the recommendation of -the City Manager, the following personnel changes ,be ma -de,:
1. John Brad Bryan, an Applicant -candidate in the Fire Department, has satisfactorily
completed the 60 day training period as such Applicant -candidate as provided by
ordinance, he is hereby appointeda firemen in the Fire Department, at a salary
of $530.00 per month, effective February 14, 1972.

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
executed copy of the contract --dated February 5,: 1972,°between the' City -of -Paducah,
Kentucky, and Allan Rhodes, Inc-., for sale to *the City' -of four (4) new' 1972 Ford
automobiles for use in the Police-Department,..:be received and filed Adopted on call

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seco-nded,by-Commkss.ioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF,ROBERT'C-. CHERRY; JR., TO''
PURCHASE THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH INA LOT AT" -THE -SOUTHEAST CORNER OF 27TH
AND JONES STREETS FOR THE SUM OF $200.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE --MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED", be adopted.- Adopted,on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby; Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). ..
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance
entitled "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A
PARKS, PLAYGROUND AND RECREATION BOARD FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIB-
ING THE MEMBERSHIP, TERMS OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SUCH BOARD', AND REPEALING
SECTIONS 22-15 AND 22-16 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND
AMENDING SECTIONS 22-13 AND 22-14 OF SAID CODE OF ORDINANCES", be adopted. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4),
Commissioner Hornsby voted "No.
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, -seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY-, CREATING POSITIONS.THEREIN AND FIXING
SALARIES THEREOF", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor, McNutt (5) .

Rules of Procedure be suspended for the -purpose -of introducing a motion. Adopted on
call of -the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey; Hornsby; Lambert, Puryear and Mayor- -

Commissioner Lambert offered-motion,•seconded.by. Commissioner Puryear, that the
following personnel changes for employees in the Park .Department of the City of Paducah
be made, effective 12:01 am.-, February 14;--1972: - -
1. Byron R. McGill, Director,of Parks `& Recreation., at.:- a- salary of $885.00 per month.
2. Robert L. Carter, Administrative Assistant, at` a.- salary of $495.00 -per 'month:
3. James A. Hammons, Maintenance S, pervisor-, at a- `salary of $660.00 per month..
4. Robert Patterson, Equipment Operator, at a salary of $3.08 per hour.
5. Eugene Arnold, Maintenance Man, -at a salary of $2.88 per hour.
