At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Miall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:00 p.m., on January 11, 1972,
Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for December 28,
1971 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be
approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting, to be held at 4:00 p.m., on January
11, 1972, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas; Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that Commissioner
Henry Puryear be nominated and elected Mayor Protem of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
to serve as such until the expiration of his present term as Commissioner. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert and Mayor McNutt (4)
Commissioner Puryear "Passed".
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that
upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the following persor}al changes be made:
1. The following persons be employed as temporary laborers in the Refrase Division
of the Public Works Department, retroactive to December 27, 197-1•:, at an h -curly
wage of $2.00, said employment to be for purposes of relief collector and
work on-call and as prescribed by the City; Ma -nage -r or his-.au-thorized repre-
sentative in the Refuse Division:

2. George Jacobs, Jr., an Applicant -candidate in the Fire Department, has satis-
factorily 'completed the 60 -day training. -period as ,such Applicant -candidate as.
provided by ordinance, he is hereby appointed a fireman in the Fire Department,
at a .salary -of -$530.00;-per month, effective January 10, 197-2.

Commissioner Harvey- offered motion, seconded by Gommis.s-ioner- Hornsby.; that the

Paducah,- covering work done by Tom Waynick, d/b/a Chastaine & Habackex:,� for ,a -.period
of one year from January 2, 1972, be received, a-pproved and filed. Adopted on call

Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of December, 1971, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Cosmopolitan
Mortuary of the Southeast corner of Lot No. 319 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition
to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of
conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).

for a period of one year from January 1, 1972, be received, approved and filed.

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion seconded` by Commissioner Harvey, --.that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to D. L. Sledd of the
southwest corner of Lot No. 320 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition'to Oak Grove
Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed..of -conveyance to
said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a
copy of the`deed dated December 23�, 1971;• from Rudolph Taylor and w.ife,' Je -Lee Taylor,
and Pearl Karnes, a widow, to the City of Paducah and County -of McCracken, for land

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner'Lambert, that
the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York
to Harper & Arterburn, Inc.. and the City of Paducah, Kentuaky, for a period of one
year from January 1, 1972, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner -Lambert, that
the resignation of Thomas E. Lambert as a member of the Urban Renewal and Community
Development Agency of the City of" Paducah be received, filed and accepted. Adopted
on call of'the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor
McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded. by Commissioner Lambert, that the(l
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home
of the Northwest corner of Lot No. 322 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak
Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance
to said cemetery.grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that they
Lease dated December 28, 1971, between the City of Paducah and Molloy Marine Service,
Inc., leasing certain property bordering on the bank of the Tennessee River, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsbq
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Mayor McNutt made the following appointment: Thomas E. Lambert having resigned'l
as a member of the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency, I hereby, subject
the approval of the Board of Commissioners, appoint Dr. Norman Parrott to serve as a
member of said Agency for the unexpired term, so that said Agency shall be composed
of the following members:
Greaham Hougland whose term expires February 23, 1972
Noble Clark whose term expires February 23, 1972
Rev. H. Joseph Franklin whose term expires February 23, 1973
Dr. Norman Parrott whose term expires February 23, 1974
Dr. Wally O. Montgomery whose term expires February 23, 1975
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Alice H. McNutt, appointing Dr.
Norman Parrott as a member of the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency of
the City of Paducah. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5).
Commissioner Horn&y offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO TRANSFER THE SUM OF19
$7,000.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY TO ACCOUNT NO 6282 OAKLAWN CODE
FOR PROJECT COMPLETION", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for a
lease one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
