At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4: 30 p.m. , on July 29 , 1975, Mayor McNutt presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley,
Coleman,, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m. , on July 29, 1975 , be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear
and Mayor McNutt (5) .
The petition signed by numerous residents in the vicinity of 4219 Minnich Avenue,
stating they have no objection to Mr. James R. McCune keeping game chickens on his premises,
was received and filed of record.
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that upon
recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made:
1. Arthur 1. Moore be employed as collector in the Refuse Department, at a salary of
$323 per hour, retroactive to July 21, 1975.
2. The following temporary laborers in the Cemetery Department be terminated,
retroactive to July 24, 1974:
Marshall Twitty
Keith Collins
3. Charles Cody be employed as temporary laborer in the Cemetery Department, at a
salary of $2.10 per hour, retroactive to July 24, 1975.
4. Charles T. Rothe be employed as pool manager in the Parks and Recreation
Department, at a salary of $100.00 per week, retroactive to July 28, 1975.
5. Lyman Brown. pool manager in the Parks and Recreation Department, be terminated,,
retroactive to July 28, 1975.
6. The resignation of James R. Thompson, Refuse Department Director, be accepted,,
retroactive to July 25, 1975.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the
following bids for sale to the City of a 30 cubic yard refuse packer be received and filed:

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
Memorandum of Insurance issued by CNA Insurance Group to the City of Paducah covering
Comcast Corporation, et al., for the period from June 13, 1975 to June 13, 1978, be received

Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND SEABROOK , LITHGOW & KUJATH , INC. IN
REGARD TO HICKORY ACRES SUBDIVISION", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF SHAWNEE FENCE COMPANY FOR
SALE TO THE CITY OF A 36 -INCH CHAIN LINK FENCE TO BE ERECTED AROUND NOBLE PARK LAKE ,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be
adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas , Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF BRANDEIS MACHINERY & SUPPLY
CORPORATION FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW ENGINE FOR USE IN A GALLION ROAD
GRADER IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley,, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF FIRE EQUIPMENT SERVICE COMPANY
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF AN AIR COMPRESSOR TO BE USED BY THE PADUCAH
FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR
SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for one (1) week
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
The next matter to come before the Board was action on the proposed rezoning
of property located at the southeast intersection of Lone Oak Road and Berger Road, a public
hearing having been held by the Board of Commissioners on this matter on July 15, 1975.
After considerable discussion, Commissioner Brumley offered motion to move the question.
The motion was seconded by Commissioner Coleman and upon call of the Roll the following
vote was taken: Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor
McNutt (5) ,
Mayor McNutt then offered the following motion: I move that the action of the
Paducah Planning Commission denying the application for rezoning property located at the
Intersection of Lone Oak Road and Berger Road be approved by this Commission. LOST on
call of the Roll, Nays, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .

Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that an ordinance
entitled "AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE ZONE CLASSIFICATION OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE
SOUTHEAST INTERSECTION OF LONE OAK ROAD AND BERGER ROAD FROM R-2 , LOW AND MEDIUM
DENSITY RESIDENTIAL ZONE, TO R-4 , HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL ZONE", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
On motion the meeting adjourned.
