Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Qy of Paducah
No.
June 3, 1975
1. That the Paducah Planning Commission on May 5, 1975, adopted a resolution
recommending that the zone classification of the real property located at 1600 - 1612
Jefferson Street be changed from R-2, Low/Medium Density Residential Zone, to R-3,
Medium Density Residential Zone;
2. That the testimony presented at the hearing of May 29, 1975, the Board of
Commissioners establishes that Jefferson Street from 14th to 28th Streets remains as one of
the City of Paducah's fine old residential areas;
3. That from an examination of the comprehensive zoning plan for the City of
Paducah, it is found that there is no recommended deviation from the totally residential
nature of this area of Jefferson Street;
4. That from the testimony presented at the hearing of May 29, 1975, it is
apparent that the vast majority of those persons owning residential property in and about
the area sought to be rezoned object to the proposed rezoning;
5. That from the testimony presented at the hearing of May 29, 1975 it is found
that the building complex proposed by Home Federal Savings & Loan Association can be
effectively accomplished without the additional public parking area which is proposed on the
subject real estate.
NOW THEREFORE, be it concluded by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky , that the rezoning of the property located at 1600 - 1612
Jefferson Street from R-2, Low/Medium Density Residential Zone, to R-3, Medium Density
Residential Zone, as recommended by the Paducah Planning Commission, be denied on the
grounds that a public parking area situated at said location would be detrimental to the
adjoining residential area.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) .
On motion the meeting adjourned.
