Home My WebLink About04/08/75M Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah April 8, 1975 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7: 30 p. m. , on April 8 , 1975 , Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Coleman being absent (1) . Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the reading of the Minutes for March 25 and April 1, 1975 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com- missioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company covering work done by Roy Amis for a period of one year from April 3, 1975, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made. 1. Gary W. Woods be employed as a temporary laborer in the Cemetery Department at a salary of $2.10 per hour, effective April 8 , 1975. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas. Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the executed copy of the Franchise Agreement between the City of Paducah and Comcast Cable of Paducah, Inc. , dated April 1, 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the following documents from the Paducah Public Schools concerning the tax rate for the period from January 1, 1975 through June 30, 1975, be received and filed: 1. Letter regarding General Fund Levy and Resolution 2. Resolution and Certification of General Fund Levy 3. Resolution and Certification for Special Building Fund Levy 4. Four copies of General Budget 5. Copy of Certified Assessment from Department of Revenue 6. Copy of Tax Rate Calculation from Department of Education Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear , that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Hunter- Knep shield Company, for sale to the City of six (6) metal shelters, be received and filed. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Rudd Woodall Motor Sales for sale to the City of one truck mounted vacuum type street sweeper, be received and filed. Resolution of Electric Plant Board pertaining Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a copy to schedule of rates and charges of the Resolution adopted by the Electric Plant Board on March 26, 1975, pertaining to the Schedule of Rates and Charges. be received and filed. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid submitted by Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc. for furnishing the City it's requirement of limestone for the year 1975, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid submitted by Southern States Asphalt Company, Inc. for furnishing the City it's requirement of asphalt for the year 1975 , be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com- missioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid submitted by Jimar Paving Company, Inc. for resurfacing various streets in the City of Paducah in the year 1975, together with Performance Bond executed by Jimar Paving Company, Inc. as Principal and The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company as Surety, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (4) . Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FIRE HOSE TO BE USED IN THE PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED", be adopted. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a J/ resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AMENDING A RESOLUTION ENTITLED 'A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , TO REQUEST AN ADVANCE OF FUNDS PURSUANT TO SUB -PART 570.302 'ADVANCE OF FUNDS AND AUTHORIZATION TO INCUR COSTS' OF TITLE 24 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS AS AMENDED BY CHAPTER V, PART 570 'COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANTS"', be adopted.
