At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 P.M., on December 23, 1974, Mayor
Protem Puryear presided in the absence of Mayor McNutt, and upon call of the Roll the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem
Puryear (4) .
Mayor Protem Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that
the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m., on December 23,
1974, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley,
Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that
the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home
of the northwest corner of Lot No. 291 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove
Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1627), and that the City Clerk be authorized
to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
% Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that
Jackie Heflin upon recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made:
Civil Service
1. Jackie E. Heflin, collector in the Refuse Department, be placed under civil
service for such position, retroactive to August 19, 1974.
Kenneth Johnson -
Maint . Man No. 2 - Parks 2. Kenneth Johnson, be employed as maintenance man No. 2 in the Parks and
Recreation Department, at a salary of $3.41 per hour, effective December 26, 1974.

File bids on Siren TimerE Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that
for civil defense
the following bids for sale to the City of Paducah of Radio Activated Siren Timers and Associated
Equipment for use by civil defense, be received and filed:
Federal Sign and Signal Corporation
Motorola Communications & Electronics, Inc.

File bid on Base Station, Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that
etc. civil defense
the bid submitted by Motorola Communications & Electronics, Inc. for sale to the City of
Paducah of one Base Station with Tone Encoding Equipment and Associated Remote Control
Equipment, for use by civil defense, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
roll, yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .

Funeral Home III that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock
Funeral Home of the northeast corner of Lot No. 287 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing
Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of
Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 1629) , and that

Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman,
that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENT OF NEW
AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK TIRES, FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM JANUARY 1, 1975
TO DECEMBER 31, 197511, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman,
that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE
WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1975 WITH WOODALL & MELTON, INC.", be introduced and
remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall
be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby and Mayor Protem Puryear (4) .
On motion the meeting adjourned.
