At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
in the City Hall, 'Paducah, Kentucky, 'at 4: 30 p.m. , on August 6, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided
and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: ' Commissioners' Brumley,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3)', Commissioner Coleman was absent and Commissioner Hornsby

was absent when the meeting was called to order. The meeting was held after fully ' complying
with all requirements of the Kentucky Open Meeting Law
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the executed
copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4: 30 p.m. , on August 6, 1974 , be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley; Puryear-and'Mayor
McNutt (3) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the petition
pertaining to Cornell Subdivision drainage ditches, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Mayor McNutt, as follows:
Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, I move that the following
personnel changes be made:
1. Whereas, on July 23, 1974 a motion was passed by the Board of Commissioners
employing John Coffie, Jr. as a collector in the Refuse Department at a salary of
$2.98 per hour, and
Whereas, the said John Coffie, Jr. was at that time employed as a temporary truck
driver in the Parks Department,
Now, therefore, I move that the said motion be amended to read that John Coffie, Jr.
be transferred from the position of temporary truck driver in the Parks Department
to collector in the Refuse Department, at a salary of $2.98 per hour, retroactive
to July 22, 1974.
2. Ronnie D. Moore, refuse collector in the Refuse Department, be promoted to
equipment operator "B" in the Street Department, retroactive to July 22, 1974,
at a salary of $3.61 per hour.
3. Terry L. Bell be employed as collector in the Refuse Department, effective
August 6, 1974, at a salary of $2.98 per hour.
4. Joe Weatherspoon, temporary assistant janitor in the Maintenance Department,
be terminated, retroactive to July 29, 1974.
5. Bobby Turok be temporarily employed as lifeguard in the Parks Department, at a
salary of $1.65 per hour, retroactive to August 1, 1974.
ry 6. The following temporary employees in the Cemetery Department be terminated,
retroactive to August 3, 1974:

Roscoe Holt -P ks V/ 7. The resignation of Roscoe Holt, mechanic in the Parks Department, be accepted,
resignation 11 retroactive to July 31, 1974.

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Mayor McNutt, that the executed copy
of the Contract between the City and Ray H. Mullen Motor Company for sale to the City of two Hornet
Station Wagons for use in the Fire Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) .

Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the Board of
Commissioners approve the transfer of the Southeast corner of Lot No. 69 in Block No. I in Oak
Grove Cemetery from John W. Hall, Jr. to Arcille Frances Ross, and that the City Clerk be authori-
zed to make the proper notation on the Cemetery Register. He further moved that a copy of the
Affidavit of Descent attached to the deed be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the reports
of the Paducah Planning Commission setting forth its reasons for recommending that the following
amendments be made to the Paducah Zoning Ordinance, be received and filed:
1. Addition of Higheay Business District Zone
2. Fence Height Limitations -
3. Definition of Fences
4. Ilefiniton of Side Yard
5. Lot requirements for Mobile Homes
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Puryear -and Mayor 'MeNutt (3) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the Evaluation and
Comparative Analysis of the Cable Television Information Center,;_ pertaining --to the cable television
applications for Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed. Adopted on call of"the `Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Puryear-and Mayor McNutt (3) .
Commissioner Puryear_ offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley,
that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF, THE CITY OF PADUCAH, WITH THE PURCHASE AREA DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT FOR PLANNING ASSISTANCE IN FISCAL YEAR 1975, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS FOR SUCH CONTRACT , AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST", be adopted.
Adopted on call of the Roll-, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (3) .
