At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City
Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m., on January 8, 1974, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the
Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that that the reading of the
Minutes for December 11, 18 ans 28, 1973 and January 4, 1974 be waived and that the Minutes of said
meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Brumley offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the claim of Floyd
Carter in the amount of $148.90 for damage to his 1966 Ford automobile when struck by a City street
sweeper on December 6, 1973 on North 13th Street, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized
to pay said claim after first obtaining a full and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Brumley, that the Board of
Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Oscar J. Edens, or Heirs, of a parcel of ground
10 x 12 feet, located at the northwest corner of Lot No. 102, Section 7, in Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum
of $375.00 (Receipt No. 14861) , and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to
said cemetery graves. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the Board of
Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to James Biles of the South one-half of Lot No. 282
in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $200.00 (Receipt No. 11591
and 14869) , and that the--0ty Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery graves.

Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that upon the recommenda-
tion of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made:
1. The following be employed as temporary pump operators in the Floodwall Department,
at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to January 1, 1974.

City of Paducah January 8, 1974
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of
Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home of the Northwest corner of
Lot 285 in Block 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $100.00 (Receipt No. 14856) ,
and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of
Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Walter A. & Frances Hartbank of a parcel of
ground, being 8 x 10 feet, and known as Graves Nos. 29A and 29B, Section 4 of the Mausoleum Addition to
Oak Grove Cemetery for the sum of $500.00 (Receipt No. 14862) , and that the City Clerk be authorized
to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery graves. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that Hanry Puryear be
nominated and elected Mayor Protem of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, to serve as such until the
expiration of his present term as Commissioner. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance
entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 30-42 'COACH LOTS' OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH , KEWFUCKY" , be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Brumley, Coleman, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
