AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CONTRACT MODIFICATION NO. 3 TO
THE AGREEMENT WITH JJR, LLC. FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES
FOR THE OHIO RIVER BOAT LAUNCH PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE SAME
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 2007-2-7260, the City authorized the execution of
an Agreement in the amount of $155,275.00 with JJR, LLC. for professional engineering services
for the design of the Ohio River Boat Launch Project; and
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2007 the City adopted Ordinance No. 2007-7-7299
which approved a contract modification with JJR, LLC. in the amount of $55,000 for completion
of an environmental assessment; and
WHEREAS, the United States Fish and Wildlife Services is requiring a Mussel
Survey of the Ohio River bottom of the area for the boat launch project; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Heritage Council is requiring an "Area of Potential
Effect" (APE) survey for approximately 120 acres of the area surrounding the boat launch
project; and
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2008-8-7452 authorizing Contract
Modification No. 2 with JJR, LLC in the amount of $19,800 for a mussel survey and an APE
survey to fulfill the requirements of the United States Fish and Wildlife Services, therefore total
contract is $$230,075.00; and
WHEREAS, Contract Modification No. 3 is necessary with JJR, LLC. to include
additional design fees for Task 4 multiple configurations in association with Kentucky Fish &
wildlife Standards $22,000 and Task 5 -additional design work in association with Burnett Street
from North 8th Street to North 6th Street and realigning a portion of North 6th Street to
accommodate the Boat Launch Project and the Greenway Trail --$38,000, new contract amount --
$290,075.00; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of all parties that this modification be deemed an
integral part of said agreement.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby approves Contract Modification
No. 3 to the Agreement with JJR, LLC. to include Task 4 and Task 5 for the Ohio River Boat
Launch Project in the amount of $60,000.00, therefore, increasing the total contract amount to
$290,075.00.
SECTION 2. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute the
aforementioned contract modification approved in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. Funding for the contract modification approved in Section 1 above
will be charged to Project Account PF0039 (RF Boat Ramp).

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
