At a called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber in the City Hal -1, "Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 p.m., on June 6,, 1973, Mayor
McNutt presided and 'upon call: of the Roll the4ollowing answered to their names: Com-
missioners Harvey- Hornsby,' Lambert, Puryear and Mayor -McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt'offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copies. of the Notice of Called.Meeting� to be held at 4:30 p.m. on June .6, 1973, be
received and filed. Adopted on .call.•of the Roil, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,.. Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5)
Mayor McNutt offered the following motion, seconded by,Commissioner Hornsby:
hereby appoint Mr. J. B. Hollowell as a member of the -E. lectrical ;Review Board in the place
and stead of Mr. Allan Koebel who will be unable to serve on said Board.

Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
petition signed by residents of Stuart Nelson Park Road and Metcalf Lane, requesting sewer
installation on those roads, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Com-
missioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the petition
signed by residents in the vicinity of 28th and Clay Streets, requesting that some action be taken
immediately concerning the drainage situation on Clay Street from Joe Clifton Drive to beyond
29th Street, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey,
Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the petition
signed by residents and shoppers of the Greater Paducah, Kentucky area, protesting showing of
"X" rated movies by the Fourth Street Cinema, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the
executed copy of the Contract dated May 22, 1973, between Jim Smith Contracting Company, Inc.
and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for construction of Street Improvements - 1973, Contract
No. I, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that upon
the recommendation of the City Manager the following personnel changes be made:
1. Ralph Holeman, collector in the Refuse Department, be placed under civic service for

2. David J. Adams, temporary pump operator in the Floodwall Department, be transferred
to the Street Department as a temporary laborer, at a salary of.$2.00 per hour,
Retroactive to June 4, 1973.
3. Lewis Allmon, part-time Park Patrolman be terminated, retroactive to May 30, 1973.
4. That the following be employed as part-time truck drivers in the Park Department,
retroactive to May 29, 1973, at a salary of $2.10 per hour:

Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and
Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the
Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Ernest and Fairy English
of a parcel of land (8 x 10 feet) in the southeast corner of Lot No. 428, Section 29 of Oak Grove
Cemetery for the sum of $200.00 (Receipt No. 11564) .
He further moved that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance
to said cemetery graves. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby,
Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear that the
claim of Jack Danek in the amount of $43.50 for damages sustained to his 1971 Plymouth
automobile by an employee of the Street Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, on May 21,
1973, on the South Beltline Highway near Ramada Inn, be approved and that the City Treasurer
be authorized to pay said claim after first obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Comelssioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
executed copy of the Contract dated May 25s 1973, between Wilkins Construction Company
and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for construction of Site Improvements for Mechanicsburg Code
Enforcement Area, Contract No. 2, Project No. Ky. . E-2, be received and filed. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
reports of the Paducah Water Works for the month of May, 1973, be received and filed. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) . 1
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the
executed copy of the Contract dated May 23, 1973, between Asphalt Paving, Inc. and the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, for construction of Street Improvements - 1973, Contract No. 3, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert,
Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution
entitled "A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE PADUCAH CIVIC BEAUTIFICATION BOARD FOR ITS
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS AND CONTINUOUS DEVOTION TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE
QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted.

Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MIKE WILEY COMPANY, INC. FOR

SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF ONE VACUUM VEHICLE FOR USE IN THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT
FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5) .

AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASES", be
adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear
and Mayor McNutt (5) .
Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an
ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF BELMONT EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC.
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE 3 -WHEEL REFUSE VEHICLES, CAB AND CHASSIS
ONLY, FOR USE BY THE REFUSE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted
