AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO WITH THE FEDERAL
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR A 2009 PORT SECURITY GRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah desires to install a fiber optic video security
system at the downtown riverfront area; and,
WHEREAS, in order to avoid federal matching fund requirements and still obtain
100% funding, the project will be divided into phases that will be represented in three sequential
grant requests, less than $25,000 each; and
WHEREAS, the Federal Department of Homeland Security has approved the
phasing plan and is ready to offer the initial award of this grant.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute all
documents necessary with the Federal Department of Homeland Security to obtain a 2009 Port
Security Grant in the amount of $24,822.00 to begin the first phase of the fiber optic video
security project for the downtown riverfront area.

SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to the 2009 Port Security Project
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
